Aluminium, Acrylic, LED engine
Beacon is a portable, modular lamp inspired by the history of handheld tools and technical lighting devices. Reinterpreting the language of utilitarian objects such as airport marshalling wands, it combines precision machining with the reflective and transmissive qualities of coloured acrylic to create a versatile instrument.
The lamp is composed of three independently manufactured elements: an aluminium body housing a rechargeable Li-ion battery and LED light engine, a CNC-machined acrylic diffuser, and a stack of interchangeable high-transmission acrylic panels. Available in a range of colours, these 3 mm panels can be added, removed, or replaced to adjust the light’s colour, intensity, and appearance over time, allowing users to personalise the lamp to different settings.
